The Trade and Investment Office (SECOM) of the Embassy of Brazil in Washington, D.C. is dedicated to the promotion of Brazilian exports in the United States and the attraction of investments and tourism to Brazil.

Our team is prepared to help U.S. companies find Brazilian suppliers of products and services, provide information on investment opportunities, identify potential partners, connect American investors with relevant government agencies in Brazil, organize trade missions, among other activities.

Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a network of SECOMs worldwide with the shared objective of promoting Brazilian exports and attracting investments and tourism. There are nine SECOMs in the United States alone: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, which together offer support to the entire United States and its territories.

TRADE

Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs promotes Brazilian exports through a network of Trade and Investment Offices (SECOMs) around the world, with nine offices in the United States alone.

The Foreign Ministry has other eight SECOMs in the United States: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Francisco. A complete list of SECOMs in the world is available at the Invest & Export Brazil platform.

One of our principal daily activities is to answer consultations from Brazilian companies interested in selling to the U.S. market. We personally respond to each message.

Common inquiries include requests for lists of importers and distributors, questions about tariffs, norms, regulations, licenses, and general requirements for exporting to the U.S.

Another aspect of our work is to promote Brazilian exports through trade missions, roadshows, and other events.

We also assist U.S. importers find Brazilian suppliers.

Additionally, foreign companies interested in importing Brazilian goods can register, free of charge, at Invest & Export Brazil, the federal government's official trade promotion and investment website, where firms can access a directory of over 20,000 Brazilian businesses. Furthermore, companies can search for Brazilian trading partners on Apex-Brasil Trade platform.

In addition to SECOMs, the Foreign Ministry supports Brazilian Exports through the Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex), which offers consulting services, market research, and incubator programs for startups, and business roundtables with U.S. companies.

INVESTMENT

Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs network of SECOMS (Trade and Investment Offices) around the world, work to promote investment opportunities and attract foreign investments to Brazil.

We provide information on investment opportunities, identify potential partners, and connect American investors with relevant government agencies in Brazil, among other activities.
